In this blog, I will be sharing some low-maintenance pets which are easy to take care for and do not requires much attention.
If you’r a college student or have a full time job, then these pets will suit best for you.
All the pets mentioned in this blog are very playful. They will also fit best for people with depression and anxiety and for those parents who don’t want their children (like me) to always be on mobile phones.

1. Hamsters
Hamsters are cute little creatures and low-maintenance pets. They like to live alone in their cage with light cleaning. They love to eat fruits, pellets, and veggies and love to run on their exercise wheel.
They are very friendly and playable. But if you think that hamsters dont suit you, then you can go for chinchillas.
2. Chinchillas
Chinchilla is another adorable low-maintenance pet. They enjoy playing with toys and hay. They love to eat grasses, leaves, and twigs and they require grooming once every week.
It can be a great choice if you’re looking for a cute little buddy to spend time with you, they also don’t require much attention and money, to be spent on them.

3. Snakes
People are often scared when it comes to making snake a pet, but there are some species that are considered harmless and can be tamed.
They are also quite adorable, requires very minimal attention and can feed on frozen mice once a week. Although they are harmless but still make sure to do some thorough research.

4. Tarantulas
If you’re scared of owning a pet having eight legs, then tarantulas are not meant for you. Yes, I’m talking about a spider. They are very quiet and require minimal attention. It can be an amazing experience, having a pet spider.
Feeding them once every week is enough, so it will be less costly.
You can own it, if you’re comfortable with a spider living in a room with you. They are not harmless as that’s the reason that they are considered as pets. So no need to be scared.

5. Hermit crabs
These cute and fascinating crabs are worth becoming pets. They are low-maintenance pets and they require minimal care. You can design a cute normal-sized cage and watch them live their fascinating life.
They feed on pellets and veggies, and you need to clean their cage just once every few months. They don’t require much attention, so, a busy person can also own it.

6. Hedgehogs
Hedgehogs are small, adorable, and great low-maintenance pets if you’re not allergic to their quills. They are very soft from their belly side. They love to run around and play with their owners. They are not as harmful as they look like.
They can be fed on pellets and canned insects and they require you to clean their cage once every week.

7. Leopard Geckos
If you’re comfortable living with a lizard in the your room, then you can go for leopard geckos. It has an awkward name but a unique personality. It doesn’t require much attention and is a low-maintenance pet.
They love to bask in the sun and love to eat live insects, which include crickets, calcu worms, Wax worms, and small locusts. All the pets in this list are great but this one personally is my favorite due to their cute face and body.

8. Bearded dragons
Bearded dragons are similar to leopard geckos and are also low-maintenance pets to own. They are easy to care for and feed on insects, fruits, and veggies.

9. Fishes
Fish is the first and the most common pet when it comes to low maintenance. First thing, it doesn’t require much space to live, second, it doesn’t require much care and food, and last, it is quiet and beautiful.
Most of the time, noise is the main reason why people don’t want to have pets. Well, this problem is solved now. You can go to any common fish store and can select the fish of your choice.

10. Guinea pigs
These little fluffy creatures are easy to care for and only require their cage to be cleaned once a week. They love to eat veggies and hay. They are very social animals and love to play with their owners.
They need a time out of their cage every day and do need attention. So you can place their cage near your bed or your study table. They also need to be groomed regularly. If you’re thinking of owning one of these, then make sure that you have some spare time to spend with them.

11. Rats
Rats are very underrated pets, while they are intelligent than most of the animals, require minimal attention, food, and have a great sense of humor. They don’t require much space to live and don’t make much noise. Still people usually don’t like them.
But after reading about them, I have come to know that rat can actually become a very great pet.

They are very cute-looking aquatic animals. Although they are boring too. Still, they are actually very beautifull.

You see the it by yourself, but I found it really cute. It’s a little mice-type animal. They are very social and easy to maintain. They can be kept in groups or alone in cages. They require very low attention and food. And they can be a good pet for you.

Birds can be great low-maintenance pets, depending on the species. Some birds require more care and attention, while others, such as canaries, require only a clean cage and occasional feeding.
Some species require more space to live in, while others can even live in a small cage. Their food requirements increase as they grow. They (specifically parrots) can be great companions if trained properly.
So, if you’re willing to invest some time in training them, then they can fit great with you.

Frogs are easy to keep, they don’t make much noise, and are very fascinating and low-maintenance pets. They feed on insects and occasionally require a light cleaning.

Turtles are low-maintenance pets and can live for a long time. They require a clean aquarium and minimal attention. They like to eat Insects, such as earthworms, waxworms, mealworms, bee moth larvae, and also small fishes.
Most of the childrens like them, and they look quite cute while walking slowly.

They do require their place to be cleaned daily. It can a good choice for people having depression and anxiety.

20. Cats
Some of you may say that cat requires a lot of attention and yes it’s true, but there are some independent species such as Siamese or Sphynx. They like to eat raw meat or cat food as everyone knows.
So, if you were looking for a cat and changed your mind due to the attention it requires, then this can be a good choice for you.
